Judy as always what a treat,this is my 4th trip and as a group that only fishes for northerns we caught and released 767 in 4 days none over 40″ this year but 50+ over 30″ but you can’t help but snag a few walleyes by accident, the problem with Uchi is now my sons and son in law don’t want to fish down here anymore Uchi spoils us.
The service and food were great as always, Dave , Bertha and all of the staff do such a wonderful job. Am in process of making reservations with you now my brother is coming in July for his first trip to Uchi is he in for a treat. Will see you in July, if you have persons who want to talk with those who have been there and fished Uchi have them contact me-Ken Reddish

Just a quick note to say thank-you for my recent trip. The service, accommodations, food, equipment etc. were all as promised, and everyone on your staff did an excellent job on my behalf. For a first-timer, I was pleased with the fishing and this in spite of an early mayfly hatch and some unusually hot, still weather both of which can make the fishing difficult at times. The only statistic that I kept on the numbers was that I managed nineteen walleye of 21″ or greater which again I feel is good for being on Uchi for the first time especially given the weather conditions. I have attached photos of the 37″ and 34″ northerns and 26″ and 25″ walleyes as well as one walleye caught while fishing alone that looks to be in the 25″ plus range in the measuring tray. Pass along my thanks to all, and I will be in touch with you later in the year in regard to a future trip to Uchi.

Hi Judy.

Wanted to say that we had a great time at Uchi Lake, as always. Everyoner did such a great job there. And I forgot how truly beautiful it is up there. And the night skies - impossible to describe.

A final question for you. Regarding the rebate from the Canadian government, last time (which granted, was a few years ago), I printed the docs from the web and sent them in. However, Larry thought that you had said that you were sending that in for us this time. Can you please clarify what I need to do.

Hey Judy! I just wanted to thank you and your staff for the great Uchi experience that the Suppes Party had a couple of weeks ago. This was my 3^rd time with the Suppes Party and in my opinion was the most fun trip yet! You and your staff do a heck of a job to make it a great experience for all. I still laugh everytime I look at the picture of my buddy John’s smiley face marked sandwiches that Bertha prepared for him for shore lunches since he is allergic to seafood. Besides the experience that you and your staff provided, the other 3 groups that were in camp with us were all just really nice people. It’s always a good thing when I don’t have to worry about my laugh waking the camp since the whole camp was outside at the camp fire socializing! : ) A do apologize to you and the ladies if we woke or kept any of you guys up those couple of nights we all stayed out late together. We definitely made some new friends on this trip. I am sure that Dr. Gros’ son Billy and I will be getting a beer or 10 sometime soon in Chicago since he just moved to the city. Larry and Bob were a lot of fun as was Brian and his father.

Although I am only back from that vacation for less than 2 weeks, I am already looking forward to my next trip to Uchi! Little does Rick know that his wife might just let him come up next year as opposed to the every other year deal we have been doing and if/when she gives the green light, we will be booking with you for next August!

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you as early as next year!

Bernie and I just finished our 8th year at Uchi Lake Lodge and the trip was great as usual. While we fell short on our quest to catch 800 fish for the week, we did catch 772 which was our second best year and we had our best year catching large fish. We had 39 walleye 20 inches or greater and 32 of the 39 were 23 inches or better. The catch included fish of the following size: 27, 26.5, two 26, two 25.5, and eleven at 24 inches. We also netted two 36 inch, a 35 and a 32 inch northerns as well. Wow! Where else where can you catch 110 fish a day and catch fish of this size?
The staff was attentive and friendly which is what we have come to expect and are never disappointed. As always we treasure our week at Uchi and are already looking forward to next year.

After Hearing about Uchi Lake Walleye fishing from my brother for many years, I was finally able to make it up here.

What a great Walleye Lake! Yesterday we boated about 75 Walleyes down near the Uchi River. Many of these Walleyes were over 20″ with a few of them over 26″. One thing I’ve noticed this week over other Walleye lakes that I’ve fished, is that the Uchi Walleyes seem to be much heavier for their respective lengths. Many of them look like footballs and fight like hell! You have to try this Lake!

We were out on the lake and i caught a 10in walleye and as i was bringing it in my partner in the boat couldnt net the fish because a huge northern came from underneath the boat and tried to eat the walleye. At first i didnt see it but my netman said “THAT WAS THE BIGGEST FISH IVE EVER SEEN!!” i had my doubts but i decided to let the walleye swim around for a bit on my hook and see if the northern would come back for some more. After about 15 seconds the walleye came to the top of the water and the northern pike(known as the MONSTER OF UCHI LAKE) came and swallowed the walleye whole and bit right through my line! i couldnt believe what i saw the fish was so big. i have been to uchi some 5 times now and that was the biggest fish ive ever seen here, it was probably around 50in-60in at the least. The fish is still out there and i am defenitely coming back next year to catch it and claim my prize. Everyone should come to Uchi for the great fishing, friendly and helpful staff, great hospitality, and most of all the MONSTER OF UCHI LAKE!

This is my second visit to Uchi Lake. Bill made me a believer last year. This year is even better. We caught 603 fish in a week. 5-24, 5-25, 2-26, 2-28 inch Walleye. The largest pike was 36 inches. This experience is exactly the type you read about Canadian fishing. One day, we caught 104 fish. If you find a school of fish, you can catch 30+ fish in a half hour. However, it is still fishing. You have to have the right equipment and use the right technique. Just read Bill Duran’s “Fish On” article in the 2012 newsletter. It will give you a head start if you are a first-time visitor. Of course, fishing is even better after a great meal prepared by Bertha and served by Petra. Larry and David, the dock hand, are very helpful with fishing tips and delicious shore lunches. They make the whole experience complete. Thank you for the great experience!

I started looking for a place to take a fly in fishing trip 2 years ago. I booked with Judy at Uchi Lake last year. It was a long wait, but I was not disappointed. Judy and her staff do an excellent job. You certainly don’t need to bring snacks. The meals are awesome and in large proportions. Being a bass fisherman from Iowa, I like to throw lures all day long. Don’t let anyone fool you. You can even catch walleye on bass lures at Uchi Lake. My biggest was 25 inch. We also did great on Pike. The biggest being 33 inches. Uchi lake is also a great place to view wildlife. We saw several bald eagles and with the help of other guests, Dave and Jamie, we had some great encounters with moose. This was such a great experience. Thanks Judy!!
