Last Week in July 2006
Fishing is only getting better. July 28th the Case party and Berg family arrive in Uchi. This is the second year for the Case party and the first morning they released a 29 3/4" W, 28 1/4", 27 1/2", 26 1/2" and a 24. No kidding and no lies. So we here at Uchi feel it doesn' t get much better so must be downhill from here. However, in comes Doug for dinner braging about his 28", 26 and 26 1/2" walleyes. If not better, at least the fishing is consistent.
First timer Sam Berg comes back to camp before shorelunch. He just released the largest walleye of his entire life - a whopping 30" Walleye.
Remember this is all in one week. We are fortunate to have Dave Lange and Bob Snyder with us as well. The northerns they were able to measure reached 38", 39" . Now their story about the estimated 44" northern was believable however not measured. This tricky northern broke straight through the bottom of the net.
